A warm hello from Fourways
Dear Residents, Families, Friends and Healthcare Professionals,
Welcome to our September newsletter. It has been another cheerful and engaging month at Fourways Residential Home, with music, celebrations, games and plenty of opportunities to spend time together. Our aim remains simple: to make Fourways feel like home, where every resident is known, valued and supported to enjoy meaningful days.
A LIVELY MONTH OF ACTIVITIES
Throughout September, residents enjoyed trivia and quizzes, table tennis, puzzles, colouring, bingo, arts and crafts, indoor bowling, word searches, parachute and ball games, movies and snacks, music and gentle standing exercises. We also welcomed special visitors, including a Bollywood dancer, a church choir, a musician and a bird guide, bringing extra variety and enjoyment to the month.
MUSIC, FRIENDSHIP AND SHARED MOMENTS
The best moments are often the simplest ones – a favourite song, a friendly conversation, a shared laugh or a slice of cake. Our activities programme is designed to encourage participation while respecting each resident’s individual interests, choices and pace.
Thank you, Maisha
A special thank you to Maisha, our Activities Coordinator, for her enthusiasm and for continuing to create enjoyable, varied and welcoming activities for our residents.
Celebrating our Fourways community
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS
September brought more reasons to celebrate. Birthdays are always special at Fourways, and we enjoy making each occasion personal with cakes, candles, favourite treats and time together. Thank you to families and friends who help us make these moments even more meaningful.
WELCOMING NEW MEMBERS OF OUR TEAM
We were also pleased to welcome several new staff members to Fourways during September. We wish them a very warm welcome as they settle into the home and get to know our residents, families and colleagues. Every new team member is supported through induction, training and ongoing development, with kindness, safety and person-centred care at the heart of their role.
A HEARTFELT THANK YOU
Thank you to our residents for the warmth and energy they bring to Fourways every day; to relatives and friends for their continued involvement and support; and to our visiting healthcare professionals and community partners for working closely with us. I would also like to thank our care, kitchen, housekeeping, maintenance and activities teams for their continued hard work and commitment.
LOOKING AHEAD TO OCTOBER
As we move into October, we look forward to more seasonal activities, birthdays, entertainment and opportunities for residents, families and staff to enjoy time together. Families and friends are always welcome to speak with us, share ideas or let us know about anything that could make life at Fourways even better.
Our door is always open
Please speak to us whenever you have a question, suggestion or something you would like to discuss. We value open communication and working together for the people who call Fourways home.
With best wishes,
Rayhan Boksh
